Each Canter Craft stall plate begins with an original portrait, hand-drawn from your photographs by an equestrian artist. An experienced eye for expression, conformation and the details unique to each horse allows every portrait to feel distinctly their own.

The finished artwork is engraved in-house onto hand-selected Maple or Black Walnut, chosen for the quality and character of its natural grain. Each piece is individually crafted and finished, pairing fine materials with original artwork created exclusively for your horse.

Natural variations in the wood ensure that no two pieces are exactly alike.

Available exclusively by inquiry.
A limited number of portrait commissions are accepted each month, allowing each piece to receive the attention and craftsmanship it requires. Please inquire for current availability.

Prior to engraving, you’ll receive a digital proof of your portrait and final layout for approval. Please allow approximately two weeks for design and production.

Your original portrait is kept on file with Canter Craft and can be used across future pieces in your collection.
